Question for you 1968 Topps people

I was just looking at the pop. report and it lists a variation for checklist #518. I was looking through my cards and I have both variations but only one of the one that says Amer. League on it. I assume that is the scarcer of the two. I have it in a PSA 9 holder. Is this variation worth getting the label changed to show that the card is a variation? Is there any sort of premium on the card? Thanks for the help.

  • The SMR does not show the checklist variation separately. But, I imagine that if you can get PSA to give it a different lable you can drive some cost differential for the card. you might approach it with PSA as a mechanical error (that waay they'll fix it for $0.00).

  • As far as I know there is no premium for this variation.

Jared: Agree with Dave. I have never seen any guide provide a different price for the variation. This may be supported in that the card isn't weighted differently on the registry. Still, it's probably worth the "free" mechanical error correction.
