Brown pack and blue pack Ikes

Can anyone give me the original issue prices for brown and blue pack Ikes? They were only issued from 1971 to '74, right? Did anything change over that time (packaging, price, etc.)?

I,ll bet supercoin knows this one.
You might PM him if no one shows up with an answer.
BTW.The blue Ikes are the silver S issues in the cello packaging(dark blue envelope)
and the brown Ikes are in the brown simulated wood grain slide out cardboard box with an embossed
    image of a gold coin?
When I biought my 2 `50 D Jeffs that day I also got a nice rainbow-toned `71 PF in the brown package.
I bought it just for the nice toneing. For the $8 I paid I think I got the color for free.image
Original issue prices couldnt have been all that much in the early `70s could it?
I,d be interested in that info too.Good question Shiro.

The issue price for the "Blue Pack" Ikes (Unc.) was $3 and the "Brown Pack" Ikes (Proof) was $10. There were no changes in pricing or packaging.

Double Dime is correct on the pricing! $3 Mint State and $10 for Proof 1971-1974.

All years were the same price.

As you all will recall, the 73-S Proof took off in price in 1973 and has never come back down.

Thought I would make a killing as a 12 year old and bought my first coin from the mint.. a 1974-S proof silver. Learned my lesson early on making money from the US Govt.

Have there been any other individual dollar coins offered by the Mint since then besides the 1999-S proof SBA (besides commems, that is)?

Not that I'm aware of. But I don't claim to know it all.

Come back down to issue price , No. But the 73 brown Ike did get up to the $150 to $200 range before it came all the way back down to around $15 for awhile. I don't know where it is right now but I'll bet it is a lot closer to its low than its high.

I find it interesting that the 1973 mintage really isn't much lower than 1974, but they still bring about a 3x premium.

I don't know if that's just the lingering power of publicity, or maybe a bunch of 1973 are being hoarded somewhere, by somebody who wishes they sold at $150. image

Isn't this also the case for the 1999/2000 proof sets? I don't have the mintage numbers handy, but the price spread compared to mintage wasn't "normal" based on the last info I say.

Anyone have the mintages for these years?

There are quite possibly going to be some "resistence" levels if the price of these
ever try to go back up. There appears to be a significant number of people whose de-
mand for Ikes is date specific. They may be assembling a one of each date set or
they desire only one date. There were no regular issue '73's so such demand would
be concentrated on the other coins.
