Funny this site comes around just after the planned release of www.mintnews.com, and it looks extremely similar too.

  • Looked at the URL and read it as "min terror news" dot com and thought "What, a website for brief terrorist reports? And what's it doing on a coin forum?" Looked at it a bit longer before it sunk in what it really was.
  • Hmm, I'm starting to work on a website as well but not necessarily an error news website. With all the websites popping up, I wonder if this hobby is going to get an increase in interest in the coming months/years. It might be good to see but hopefully it can wait until I can finish my collections as I won't have as much competition image

I guess good things are copied, so I should be flattered.

Thats to bad CopperCoins, you show your new site to us for our opinions and this happens... Unless there is some pre-made format with extremely similair html coding floating around...

    << <i>Both look like good websites. >>

That's actually not the point. Whether both are good rests on the abilities of the person who came up with the idea in the first place.

Trust me, I know how to view source codes and alter them for whatever my needs may be at that point in time. That appears to be the case here.... I have been building websites for over 5 years, albeit very amaturish ones that would never have anyone running to me to build a website for them..... One could simply edit and copy the source html code and enter it into say Frontpage and not worry to much about the html........

I don't work with databases (you are using MYSQL, right?), but I'm sure you can make copying your site a pain in the ass... go for it, CC image

That's actually not the point. One is a stolen idea, the other is original. That's the point. Whether both are good rests on the abilities of the person who came up with the idea in the first place.

Have you ever designed something original to have someone else steal the idea from you? Feels rotten. >>

I'm sure it does.I added your website to my 'Favorites' list a few days ago and I agree it's not cool to have your idea copied.Sorry if I gave the impression that I was endorseing such action.

  • I think the plethora of websites is a reflection of the hobby growth as well as a cause of it...but I could be wrong.
