Well, working for a student loan originator/servicer I can say to this guy: GET A LOAN!
  • Remember buy the story not the coins.
  • I would like to have that 89 Carson just for grins, but I won't go into the lottery.....

If he's so poor, his kids shouldn't be at UVA or JMU.....
  • And this will get him out of the poorhouse?

How do people sleep at night!!
  • A new (at least to me) level of idiocy on ebay...

  • Sounds like some idiot trying to perfect his counterfeiting techniques. Anyone stupid enough to bid on this? I'm sure his dad had these for forty years and now the poor baby needs money. Where does it end? Wife has to prostitute next?
    Merc collector.
  • If he's so poor, why did he just spend $48+ dollars on knitting magazines?
    Merc collector.
  • Dad really knew how to pick 'em, heh?
  • Can you have a lottery like this on ebay?

the DNA in that gene pool isn't very bright

    I'm pretty sure it's a violation of eBay's TOS.

We can only hope that "Dad" did not mentor anyone in the finer points of coin collecting...

It is a violation of ebay conduct and I reported the auction. Ebay currently makes it very difficult to report auctions like this and it took me a while to find the form for it. Here is the link for the form to report all types of bogus schemes including lotteries and counterfeit coins.

Thanks for the link Tom. You're right about eBay making it difficult for you to find a way to report violations. I'm sure they like to bury their heads in the sand when it comes to reports of abuse.

007............good to see you around againimage
  • Looks to me like his coin buying is alot like his fathers. He said that he is starting to buy coins and resell them. Well he did! He bought a 1999 SBA Proof for $15. I guess he didn't know he could still buy that from the mint for around $8.

I'm thinking about emailing him to see if he wants a few more and I'll just have the mint ship them to his house!

    What a DORK!!!!!!!!!

50 Years ago he came across the civil war sword, let's say 50 years ago he was 10 years old.
40 Years ago when he was 20, His Dad bought these coins when he was still a child?!?!?
25 Years ago when he was 35, his first child was born
19 Years ago when he was 41, his second child was born
17 Years ago when he was 43, his third child was born.
15 Years ago when he was 45, his fourth child was born.
today, he would be 60 years old.

In the past month he has purchased 21 items at $348 and sold 10 items at $1193
Even though he has no money he is still bidding on items:
    Linky

In the link in the original posting on this message board, he writes that he has a promoter. He also has a previous auction which was the first auction:
This one! He states he is having the gold tested.

He is also able to afford having coins shipped off to NGC.

Now, I'm having hardships too but you don't see me sending out coins to have graded, hiring a promoter to handle my lottery, having my coins graded to see if they are really gold. If he is having such a hardship, why does he continue to spend his money?

I'm not sure if this is Lucy's auction but
Perhaps she is in the know?

I don't know, with all the auction's he has bid on in the past month, Not sure what to make of this. Bid History

I'd like to see what happens with it though...

  • you have alot of free time on your hands
  • what I dont get is that he calls him self poor and has purchased 16 1999 silver proof sets at about 155 each.

I looked at it and my first thought was, "hmm, a $10 bid for a very obvious added mint mark - I'll bite." Being the thorough person I am, I read through everything. The $10 is for a "chance" to win a $5 coin. What kind of complete idiot is this guy?
