One of Numismatics greatest secrets: The 1974 Accented Hair Kennedy!

We are all aware of the 1964 Accented Hair Kennedy. Here's mine:
1964 AH Kennedy

What is not as popular and really not talked about in the Numismatic circles is the rarely seen 1974 "Accented Hair" Kennedy.
Apparently Mrs. Kennedy- really Mrs. Onassis then- wanted a Ten Year anniversary coin to honor her late husband and great President.

Obviously very few were minted and even to this day PCGS refuses to even acknowledge this variety exists. ( PCI does, but for an extra fee of $3.00.)

Lesser Known 1974 AH

This Kennedy will be donated to the ANACS coin museum upon my dismissal from this hobby. image

    Thanks! The 1964 AH is 67CAM.
    The 1974?

    I wouldn't even venture a guess on grade. . .

    those are known as AHKB's
    ahhhh yes.....the ol 74 accented hobo "kennebro" a rare item,only seen one other...
    that ones looks mssixtyfro...BUT a closer exam is required to be more precise

    Man, I can never tell these Accented Hairs apart from the non-AH. Maybe you could post pics of the 1974 non-AH side by side with the 1974 AH so I can compare them? image

    Can't say that I have one of those in my collection... but... a girl I dated for 10 years, to whom I'm still friends with called me the other day. I was telling her about some of the coin stories and she had one of her own.

    In 1965, her Dad gave her Aunt in Belgium some coins that were in "plastic". A few years ago her aunt gave them to her because it was her Dad's (Dad died when she was 5) so it was a really nice gesture by her Aunt. In describing the small hoard image I figured these were 1964 proof/uncirculated sets. Although they are sentimental and she is not looking to sell them, she wondered what the price of these would be. I talked to her about it and mentioned the Accent hair...but she did not understand the language of coin and we agreed, the next time I saw her I would take a look at them and determine what the value was and if she indeed had the accent hair or anything else of note.

    What stinks (subsituted word) is that none of my friends have any coins! So this was a nice suprise.

    Well, I see racism is alive and well in Mississippi!! Seems some things never change. Can you believe some of the comments this Doops (PEPPERDOODLES on ebay) makes?? Kennebro (as in brother), mssixtyfro (as in afro). image

    How the heck would you know! You r just looking for anyway to get back at Doops because he enjoys making you look stupid (Which cant be to hard) We can all see that. Saying he has an afro is not offensive! Many differant races have afros! Get over it!

    Braddick, nice AH. dcam and doops I dont know you two guys and I dont express my opionion on this forum to much. Why dont you guys just take the anomosity that you obviously have towards each other to the many chat rooms on the net so I dont waste my time reading it here. If I offended you sorry,but sometimes it gets real old real quick on this forum reading about BS.

    Nice coin there Pat and the surfaces almost look liquid.
    As far as the other coin I've heard of Kennedy looking at Lincoln but never saw a Kennedy turning into Lincoln.
