Good luck, but they are tough on copper right now. REALLY tough. Some of the grades you hoped for would make the coins the finest known. They better jump up and sign if you expect PCGS to give thjose grades to a coin nowadays.
  • What I find of interest is that you would pay to have those coins graded? I'm way out of the loop. would you mind telling me
what those coins are worth if you get your grades? I have several much older rolls of cents. Maybe I'm not broke yet.........thanks.

Cents from the 1980s in 67 should go for 40-50 dollars. I have a batch of 20 Lincolns shipped to PCGS a couple of days ago (MY BIGGEST SUMISSION EVER) and I'm hoping for quite a few of 67s, but since PCGS was good to me lately I expect to get my bu++ kicked soon.
  • Good luck on your grades (gmarguli is right about PCGS being tough on copper cents). The only problem I see is that you have both modern & economy dates mixed on the invoive. Modern are 1970 and later ($10/coin). Economy are 1969 and earlier ($15/coin). You can't mix the submission, so you either sent them in as economy and overpaid for the modern coins, or you sent them in as modern and they will not grade the earlier dates with the group.

Edited to say: this is assuming you sent them in as a PCGS club member, and not through an authorized dealer.

  • Good luck! If you get a 67 on the 1962-D you've got yourself a small gold mine there...

  • Thanks everyone for the responses. My first two submissions were American Eagle Bullion coins, and I have been right on with my guesses of grades. I then decided to expand my horizons and give other coins a try. The reason I submitted these coins is, they were very attractive to me. I have never collected uncirculated cents and I may be way off on my guesses. If I'm off base, then it is a lesson learned and will help me to decide what to look for in the future.
Someone asked me what these coins are worth if they grade what I said they may grade. To be honest, I have no idea and would ask some of the experts to answer that. Someone said I mixed moderns with economy coins. Oops, my bad. My submission form said 1965 and newer are considered modern, but I figured on Lincolns, 1959 and newer should be considered modern. If PCGS decides not to grade it then I will understand and re-submit it under economy. Otherwise, I submitted all of them under the modern status and paid $12 per coin as a Silver Member.
I like reading other peoples threads about submissions and results and that is why I posted this thread.

I will post the results when I receive them.

    Thank you,
    John Dillie

Actually, moderns are 1965 and later.
