pre-Long Beach Goldberg Auctions-any information about selling through them?

I am hopeful that I will not have to sell anything before leaving for Europe in May, but at the suggestion of PCGS members I have
have contacted the Goldberg Auctioin house in Beverly Hills, CA. Since I am in San Diego, they are a convenient place with which
to do business.
After sending an inquiry to them via e-mail I received a call from one of the Goldbergs the very next morning.
I have never used an auction house (Heritage, etc.) to sell coins and my eBay experience has not been successful.
Most of my "better" coins are in the $1000-$2000 range with one exception (the 1886 Toned Morgan).
Thanks to all as always,
Barney

I've had pleasant experiences with both Heritage and Goldbergs. I think that sometimes the trick to selling certain pieces is to be sure you're putting them in an auction where other similar coins will bring a lot of lookers. For instance, I consigned a group of toned pieces in Goldberg's fall LB sale after realizing that an exceptional group of toned dollars was featured.
With that auction, Rob Lehman of the Reedededge, made a major advertising campaign for the coins because he had consigned the 'meat' of the group. In other words, my toned Morgas received extra advertising and were viewed by an exceptionally large group of dealers/collectors interested in toned Morgans.
Just for the record, coins that I couldn't sell on the bourse floor sold in that auction for multiples of what I was asking at my table!! Go figure.
Do keep in mind that typically it'll be 45 - 60 days after the auction before you get paid.
