Wonder if 50 years and some circulation would help the Shriver commem?
Get pictures of the reverse of the Texas...I want to see that one!
does pcgs give you a discount for such volume slabbing?

Why PCGS gave this one an AU55 grade is beyond me. It has wear of an XF and NO luster whatsoever.
It's an even gray with that type of XF toning on the rims silver coin take up.
Until I find a downgrade I'm stuck with this one.
Cool set Pat!
I guess if you can't have the best of the best, you can always try for the worst of the worst! I bet it is harder to find some of the coins in your set then some coins that cost thousands.

The Oregon looks much better than F15. The Lafayette looks corroded.
When you finish it, one day, the set is destined for a major auction!! Wondercoin
Greg- I was also surprised to see a second PO01 made of the Columbian. I can only guess it belongs to Higashiyama as his FA02 would be listed under the same column as my PO01.
Speaking of Higashiyama- he's now ahead of me! Better (lower grade) Commemoratives in his set! Dang! Competition.
You know what I'll be doing at Long Beach this next go around.
take this hobby too seriously. If you are not having fun, then
you are not doing it right! Great set, and remember, I would be
honored to sell you my PO-01 Chain Cent for your Type Set if you
ever come across a FR-02! ( I doubt my budget could handle a
G-04!!)
I think it's amazing that the 1893 Columbian PO01 is POP 2 coin and that somewhere out there it has a twin

Thanks for the pictures!!! This series really has a lot of character when worn. The Pilgrim especially looks great -- very somber -- when well worn.
PCGS seems to be surprisingly consistent in grading these things. Several of my circulated commems are on one side or the other of yours. (With my wife's help), I try to get some images of mine to post a side by side comparison.
The New Rochelle, even in AU55, is quite a find!
