What % of the current coins being graded by PCGS are pre 1900 ?

What percentage of the coins being graded currently by PCGS ( not over the past 15 years ) are pre 1900,1900-1964 and 1965 - 2003
Just curious If anyone knows ?
My guess would be something like this.
15 % pre 1900
25 % 1900-1964
60 % 1965-2003
Maybe even the % of moderns being around 70-75 percent.

Edited to add that I mean coins graded by PCGS and not other services

I doubt they'd reveal that info. But I'll say all of my current coins in are <1965

I would tend to agree that the pre-1900 are probably well under 5% of the current submissions. I don't know about less than 1%. I would be mildly suprised (but not shocked) if that were indeed the case. 100% of my recent 19 coin submission were in the 1900-1964 range because they were all FBL Frankies that had BETTER COME HOME THAT WAY!!! Cheers.

I agree that the pre 1900 number is really small. 5% sounds like a good guesstimate. I think Aaron's correct with the 70% or so modern submissions, with the balance being 1900-64.
It would be interesting to know for sure what the percentages are, say for last year in those given categories.
You've got to figure the early stuff has to keep slowing down, as far as numbers go, but the modern stuff can remain fairly constant as each new year brings on new issues to freshly slab.

Wow, those numbers surprise me. I have ONLY submitted coins earlier than 1900. I guess I put my efforts in to a different era than other folks. I like 18th and 19th century coins.

We're just guessing but I guess one way to get a better feel is to do what one forum member said he enjoyed doing occasionally...enter PCGS invoice numbers at random and check the grades others are getting for their coins. If you reviewed 25-50 other submissions at random, you'd probably get a better idea of the current ratio.
