OK, sorry guys and ladies. I just figured out that I had to click on the lock to view private messages. They had piled up since I joined the boards...... And I thought you guys were just ignoring me

So for the people I didn't follow up with, sorry....I'm not very computer savy

Personally, I've always wondered why a lock would connote the idea of personal messages. Didn't make sense. Took me a while to figure it out when I first got here.

We've all been there with these new fangled machines. Whenever I start using new software, I spend a lot of time pointing at the little pictures and wait to see the description of what they do. I'd be lost without it!

You should have a line in the upper left that should say ??? new messages or no new messages that is clickable also.

Everyone is correct - a lock does not intuitively suggest messages.

I would think that it makes more sense to have the PMs turned On as the default when you sign up. Then, if you want to turn them off, you could go to your profile and do so.
