If anyone has a reference, would you mind taking a look and seeing if this one is listed. Thanks.

Don't see it in the attribution guide - may want to send it to Snow at EERC for attribution - might be a new one.

I don't see it in the cherry pickers or snow books. You guy's might think I'm crazy but could this be an overdate and not a repunched date? I have a very good imagination when it comes to these things image. It sort of looks like the ball at the end of a 5 in the lower loop and the top of a 5 at the top of the upper loop. mike
  • I've got this one and it's attributed. It doesn't look quite like yours, but maybe the wear on mine makes it look different. I like yours better.
A 1943 copper Lincoln will still only buy a gumball out of the machine, but you can purchase the machine and the store with that same cent.

definitely a rpd, not an overdate.

Iampoorman2, that's a really cool overdate! but I am afraid it's not the same as the one Spinynorman has pictured and I don't see your coin listed either. My snow book is the old one maybe the new book has it listed? mike

  • I have the new Snow book and he has 38 different 1906 varieties listed but I don't see that one. Is there anything else going on with any other digits or in the denticles ? The repunching inside the lower loop seems to be pretty common.

Agree with Toothpuller, it would be helpful to see the remainder of the date and the denticles below the date - anything there in person?? Snows latest attribution guide doesn't show this RPD - I'll check the Longacres legend this weekend, unless someone beats me to it (please!!). Coins attributed since the guide came out are published quarterly there.

A RPD. I believe I have a similar one in an ANACS slab; unattributed RPD.

Send it in and get that attribute!

    It's a nice RPD. image
  • Here's a pic of the entire date and denticles. It doesn't look like there is anything going on besides the repunched six.

How do you go about getting it attributed by Snow? Do you have to be a member?

  • As of the September 2000 issue of Longacre's Ledger there were 43 varieties attributed for 1906.

You can PM me if you want the instructions on how to submit coins for attribution. The protocol is in the back of each edition of the Ledger.

  • Thanks tootpuller, I found the info for submitting on the fly-in club's site.

jeffnpcb, isn't Breen 2043 the designation for the Closed 6 variety? That's helpful info, but not quite what I was looking for.

Toothpuller - I think you meant as of 2002 - I just reviewed the last 2 years of LL thinking you meant 2000imageimage Might be #44.
