Ah, count me in, but I may have to save the $ for Long Beach -- 21 days to go!

    Michael

PS If anyone's interested I'll bring the toned Peaces now that they're slabbed. Let me know.
  • Michael, go ahead and bring them, it'd be cool to see them again.

    Another month already!

I must attend a wedding this Sunday but I should be able to make it in the afternoon for a bit between the ceremony and the reception, say around 2:00 PM. I'm also off to Denver tomorrow so hopefully I won't be snowed in!

    -JamminJ
  • nucklehead...I'm thinking about making the drive up from San Diego...I've got a bunch of holes to fill. If I go, I'll wear my obnoxiously orange San Diego Gulls floppy hat to give your Angles hat a run for its money....
  • Sounds good to me! I'll be wearin the Angels cap for sure. Look forwards to meeting you!

  • Hey nucklehead...what time are you planning to be there ????
  • I wish I could join you all this weekend and meet some of you, but I have to do my monthly Army Reserve commitment.

I'll keep my eyes and ears out for the next one. Feel free to PM a schedule if one is available. Perhaps I'll meet some of you at Long Beach. I'm planning on being there Saturday the 1st.

I'll see if I can drop by for a bit. Has there been much dark side material there lately (besides bullion)?

I'll be there around 12 or 1. I'm about 5'7", wear glasses, brown hair parted down the middle, wearing a reddish flannel shirt.

I won't be able to get there before 1:00 PM or so, if I can go. My daughter may have the flu. If she really does and my wife has to go somewhere, I'll have to stay home.

I'm about 4'8" tall, balding, and will wear a '70's style Elvis jumpsuit.

Same outfit as the Irvine meeting, so it should be easy to spot you.
  • shirohniichanshirohniichan Posts: 4,992 ✭✭✭
This is a new white, leather jumpsuit with lots of rhinestones. The one at the Irvine meeting was red silk.

I didn't see coinmonger, but I saw Mr. Lee and his daughter, nucklehead, and clw54. Nucklehead was easiest to pick out since he was the only one at the show wearing a complete Angels uniform and carrying an upside down Cardinals banner. clw54's Hillary Clinton T-shirt was a nice touch, too.

  • I was too busy looking at and buying coins - besides I don't know what any of you look like.

I was they guy with the "pissing the whole world off - one person at a time" tee shirt.

They had a very nice hobo nickel display at the show. I was drooling over that for a while.

Shiro, I don't remember seeing any short and balding Elvis with Rinestones.image

I saw that shirt. It was Coinmonger!

What a great show this weekend. Really busy. And what a pleasure it was to finally meet the top poster here, clw54. Regardless of what many of you have heard, he's a true gentleman. It was good seeing Shiro again although it was hard to talk with him with so many autograph seekers surrounding him. A special thanks to Strat (John Ruiz) for looking at and grading some of my Morgans. I truly appreciated that. Sorry I didn't get to meet you coinmonger. Next time look for Nuckelhead and he'll point us all out. (He looks like a Hobbit-you can't miss him.) I saw that display of Hobo Nickels. They were outstanding. I just wish they had been priced. Not that I could afford any but I was curious.

We arrived there just before 10am and hurried in for the drawing. They like kids to pull the names out so my daughter is asked to do that a lot. First drawing and who's name does she pull out? HER'S! She received a PCGS 1983-S PR68DCAM Lincoln and a $10 gift certificate good at any table there. (Plus a couple IHC's each time for pulling out the names) There's a drawing every hour and she's called upon to pull the name for the 12 o'clock drawing. She pulls out MY NAME! First time I've ever won anything there. An ICG 1944-D MS67 RD Lincoln plus a $10 Certificate!

We scouted around and I found such a deal on toned Rosie's and toned Merc's. Her and I had a field day and bought just about everything the guy had. Here's a scan of one.

My scanner doesn't do it justice but the colors are beautiful.

Frattlaw, Nuck and Jenni, as always it was a joy spending time with you guys. I can't wait for Long Beach.

I'm glad everybody had a good time at the show. I've been avoiding going to any show until Long Beach. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to save up any money.

I spent exactly $15, even though there were some temptations around. It was fun meeting everybody there, well worth the drive.

Yes. Which dealers table should we stand in front of for an hour while driving away all his customers this time? image

Or, better still, the Accugrade table. It's kind of creepy way back there against the far wall, but we can make it comfy.

    Hey there,

Couldn't break away from the wedding I attended today, so I didn't make it. Sorry to hear I missed out on a well attended show.

Oh well, there's always Long Beach!

    -JamminJ
  • I got there late, about 2:00. I had my 7 year old daughter with me, did anyone notice? I was looking for John(Strat), had mega bucks this time and wanted to seriously look at his best Franklins! I only bought one coin, a 50 Franklin I believe will grade 65FBL for $65, just as I was about to head out the door! John, what time did you leave, I heard you were there earlier?

Please inform your friends and family not to schedule weddings, birthday parties, ect. on coin show days. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • I was glad to meet nucklehead and his lovely girlfriend, clw "the claw", and FratLaw. Nucks pointed out Mr. Lee to me as well, but I was in the middle of throwing my money all over the room. Filled a couple holes and did a few upgrades to my Walking Liberty set.

Sorry I wasn't more sociable...besides having my head buried in the coin piles, I was coming down with what is now a wicked cold..thought my head was gonna explode the whole drive back to San Diego.

Nice to put some faces to names of the SoCal CU contingent.

P.S.>>>and only saw one ACG slab in the whole showimage
