Jefferson Nickels

Hi Jefferson Nickel collectors!
I know that Frank Corso and I will both add the reverse of varieties when they get added to the With Varieties registry set. How about you BNE? Anybody else?
BNE, I see you now are all minimum of 69 DCAM from 1968 to present, congratulations!
I just joined the Full Step Nickel Club. My first issue of the newsletter contained a nice letter from Frank C. I might start looking for a few full step nickels. It sure seems hard to finish a full step nickel collection. It might be cheaper to finish than a DMPL Morgan collection, but I'm not sure it would be much easier.

I will be adding my "reverse ofs" to the new "with varieties" set, but first I have to get my '39 rev. of '40 back into a PCGS holder. I sent my PCGS PR66 coin to NCS a few months ago to have some haze on the reverse removed. They did an o.k. job, but it is now sitting in an NGC PR66 slab. I have to cross it back now. I am hoping against hope the grading gods will smile on me and it will end up in a 67 holder, but I'm not banking on it. I guess I will eliminate my snide comment in the description of that set, too, since we've finally been heard.
Now, PCGS should add the '51, '53, '55, '56 (and one or two more) multiple dies to get this party started!!!

PS: What do y'all think about the 55 TDR, affordable and available
The "With Varieties Set" will include every variety recognized by PCGS that has a total PCGS Population in all grades of at least 5 coins -
that all Jefferson varieties in the pop report will be recognized since each has a pop of at least 5.
So the important question is - what additional Jeffeson varieties should be recognized? Here are a few suggestions - more to follow later tonight
1955 Proof TDR
1953 D over inverted D
1954 SD OMM
other Cherrypicker varieities?
BTW I recently upgraded my 1939 reverse of 1940 to PF67 and the 1946 D over inverted D to MS66FS - timing is everything!

My Jefferson Full Step Variety Set (1938 - Current)
My Jefferson Proof Variety Set (1938 - Current)
1939 business strike quadrupled die reverse
1941-S business strike Large S mintmark
1942-D business strike D/horizontal D
1943-P business strike "doubled eye" doubled die obverse
1945-P business strike tripled die reverse
1946-D business strike D/inverted D
Again, the sets should include the above referenced proofs ... The over mintmark coins and 1943/2 already are designated on slabs and also should be included in the MS variety set.

For the double dies and such we would need to lobby PCGS to add those. Perhaps there is more interest in them now. I would imagine they felt it wasn't economical to recognize those varieties.
Congratulations on that upgrade Frank! Acquiring both reverse ofs in 67 is tough.
BNE I thought I saw you were all PR 69 after 1968. I hope my eyes are not going downhill!!!! I have one of those 3 1971-S in 69 DCAM. I will let you know if I ever sell it, but don't hold your breath
