will the 6 drag the grade down to the point of a foolish slabing???

    I don't know much about value of indian cents but the dark area might be enviromental damage and if so the coin would not be slabbed by pcgs or ngc.
    If it's worth over $100 or so it might worth trying.

    I suggest that you don't spend the money for 3rd party grading service encapsulation,coins777.Even if you manage to get your 1869 Indian in a slab i don't think there's much point to it.Encapsulation is not going to make this coin any more desirable or valuable,in my opinion.

    Even if you know that your circ 1869 Indian is a variety,if it were encapsulated you are just putting it in writing,at considerable expense to you,via the capsule's label,what you already know.

    sentiments echoed, the corrosion is more likely to prevent certification than the minor metal displacement at the top of the "6". are you slabing for grade or authenticity? looks like the grade is clearly "g-4".
