I have a few high end commons from that set which appear to have a "grainy" surface. In other words, the surface has light lines or discolorations on it which makes it look like a wood grain appearance. I picked up the cards from different sources so I assume this is not uncommon. My question is does anyone know how PSA views this in terms of grading? Will these cards get deducted because of the surface appearance? The lines aren't bold but you can see them easily upon close inspection.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I know exactly what you are writing about. I've submitted cards like that and have gotten PSA 8's -- which is probably what they would have gotten if the surface was perfectly smooth. It doesn't appear to be a problem for the graders as long as there are no creases or wrinkles.
