  • Luxury, I thought your set had a very respectable showing. Are you going to hold on to it now as you had suggested you might?

Rbeaton - Good luck on your auction!
  • Gem Mint Man , I will probably hold on to my 1970 K Set I really do like the set ... I wanted to see what the Market valued it at ... I did not think it would sell for $3000(My guess is that with out the reserve the set probably would have went for somewhere between $2400-$2600) but for a $5.00 gamble in EBAY fees it was worth the investment... I sold a lot of other cards and had some fun watching the auction....

I have another set started and I will slowly work on that one I already have a couple of the keys and who knows I may venture into the PSa 10 arena ....

Can't your "uncle" just print you up the May and Alou in his basement already, geeze.
  • I had been planning to sell mine for a while, and Luxury beat me to it. I don't really want to sell it, however, I could use some cash now.

I'll probably put another set together anyway. Rumor has it that I have a few more K cards laying around image

Any high grade OPC Jim Palmer
    High grade Redskins (pre 1980)
  • Rbeaton - nice job with your set!

Ok Luxury, you've got some 'splainin to do image. You try to sell an all 9 set, and then you go and upgrade with another complete set. I guess you want to just work on improving your set eh?

GemMint you are really showing your age with that quote...image

... Did not know you were a "I love Lucy " fan... Personally I have always loved the Wine episode where Lucy stomps grapes and the Chocolate factory episode ... Two classics I could watch over and over again...

    But I digress too much.....

All through out yesterday I had a really really great day selling on EBAY so Iwas looking for something to buy... and to be honest I kept looking at Robert's set.... After selling my 34 Goudey's and getting a paypal within 1 minute of the auctions end I knew I had to spend that cash quick (The new Pottery Barn catalog found its way to my wife before it could reach my shredder ) or it might go to some overpriced piece of furntiure my wife has her eye on.

To be quite honest I was suprised no one hit the BIN on this one with 4 PSA 10's it would stilll have been a good price.... So I paid a visit to my bestest buddy (ESNIPE) about an hour before the auction ended and placed a bid ($2750) I really expected to be outbid.... and was shocked, image but very pleased I won. image Thank you Robert for making this set available....

So what are my intents with the set? Hmmm... I have not fully decided as of yet.... I intend to keep my original set and at least one PSA 10 (Oliva) so I can upgrade my set ...... I will sell the other 3 PSA 10's separately. If someone is interested in the other 3 PSA 10's please EMAil or PM me with your offer.

As for the PSA 9 's remaining in the set I have not decided if I will sell them together as a complete set with a PSA 8 Cullen( I have all the PSA 10 cards in PSA 9). Or break them up and sell them individually... As I have not received the set I will think about what to do with the PSA 9's for a while.... However Obscene cash offers do have a way of clarifying one's mindimage

  • This gets me thinking. Does Koolaid come from stomped Kellogg's Kards?
