5 coins exactly the same......

This is to clarify a prior posting

I looking for information on the top grading companies, PCGS, ANACS, NGC, ICG, etc...
Im trying to learn what each companies quirks are, what are there good/bad habits, who over grades certain types and undergrades other types....I'm just trying to develope a general profile of each company.

If you had 5 coins, all exactly the same in every minor detail, how would each company campare to the other and whos slabbed coin would have the highest liquidity value, or rather who would be the easiest to sell.

Use this coin as an example

I don't know how they will grade, but I think for liquidity

    1st PCGS
    2nd NGC and ANACS

(If I'm wrong someone will let you know)

  • I can only speak for Lincoln's and Jefferson's. PCGS and ANACS are about equal in grading standards but PCGS will bring a higher premium and IMO NGC is about .5 point more generous (however I believe NGC is more acurate to the true ANA grading standards). NGC Full step Jefferson's at the same grade are more desireable but don't sell for a premium over PCGS. PCGS coins, especially Lincoln's graded in the last 6 months, command a higher premium because they under graded compared to previous years.

    All IMHO of course.
