Will the Virginia delegation have its way ...

... if we as collectors don't make an effort to make our feelings know to our respective representatives? Do you even care?
My apologies to my fellow collectors who happen to also be Virginians, but I hope that, as a collector you don't support the monopolizing of any denomination as that of your home state, with the exception of your state quarter.
It just seems to me that those folks are serious about dictating what can or cannot be on the five cent piece, and with my luck, they will go uncontested, or if we leave it for someone else to challenge, we will just end up with a five cent piece that cannot be changed. I'm not reall sure how I should feel about disbanding the current CCCAC; I don't think they have the authority to do what they are chartered to do anyway, but, giving up the right for the Secy of Treasury (usually delegated to Dir US Mint) to change after 25yrs, or to change at all, just isn't appealing to me as a collector.
What is your position, if any?

I totally agree with you. I have emailed my congressman that I do not in any way support the Virginia position on the nickel and do not wish him to either. It would seem to me that our congress has much more important issues to discuss and solve, than taking up time regarding the State of Virginia's desires regarding Monticello on the U.S. Nickel.
