Buying Slabs or Sending in for grading. Whats your percentage, and success rate.

I was wondering about us collectors. I've bought a good number of slabs for my collection, and I've sent almost as many in for grading. So far I've been real lucky. Out of my whole collection, a good 40% are coins that I sent in for grading. Out of those, I'd say about 6% came back 1 point lower than hoped for. I've always had a hard time finding nice raw coins that would fit in my collection. So, I have had to buy slabs for those "gotta have" pieces. I do like to periodically send coins in for grading because it gives me a reality check on my grading skills, or at least knowing which service will grade a particular coin a certain grade.
What is your experience?

I do both.... I have scored two pr68DCAM's on Franklins, the only two proofs I have sent, I have another in now that I am hoping for DCAM but maybe a pr66 if I'm lucky. Every Frankin mint state that I have submitted has been FBL, but they have all graded lower then I had em, getting ready to send another batch in, I am hoping for a few ms66's on this one... I'll buy graded coins in grades that I need and I 'll still search for raw GEMS regardless of the year...

I never had a body bag return but I have a dealer submit my pcgs coin another dealer does my ANACS they won't submit if they don't think they will not grade. I send in my own IGC state quarters.
