S or not S ?

I'm looking at a 1926 Peace Dol. NGC MS 63 on ebay (3003675601 Sorry, don't know how to LINK) that looks like a 1926S...the letter S appears on the slab next to the dollar sign s$. The seller says it's a 1926...NOT a 1926S.
What's the difference between a 1926 S and a 1926 s$1 ? Twowood

s$1= This is NGC's way of saying this is a silver dollar and not a gold dollar. There were no gold dollars this year but they made both gold and silver in the 1870's and 1880's along with the $1 gold commemoratives in the 1900's. mike
