Walkers, Walkers..........where are all the Walkers???

.......so I'm at the local shop last night helping the owner sort through some silver he picked up. All circulated coins, $138 face in Mercury dimes and $745 face in Walking Liberty half dollars. I was sorting by date with a quick look for any keys and then he went through them for grade and kept what he wanted before moving 'em down the line.
The last time we did this, about 2 months ago, we actually found a 1939 Proof Walker in the batch which was probably a 58-62 grade because of a staple scratch. This time we found about $50 worth of XF's which included a 1938-D and some teen dates and a 1921 from the Mercs.
My question is this-------where are all the 1947 Walkers at?? I don't recall if we found any out of the last batch because I wasn't really paying attention. This time I was and there were none. The dates seemed to peak at 1942-1945 and dropped off sharply at 1946, resembling the mintage figures from 1939 and on in miniature. But where are all the 1947's?? Has that date been hoarded as the last year of issue??
Thanks.
