Can a AU coin have a PL or DMPL designation?

    I think so- but mind you, if it were PL and rubbed, the rubbed spot probably won't have frost...

    I'm not sure that all the grading services will give DMPL to cir Morgans.

    I have seen some independently graded AU coins with the prooflike designation, but, I don't recall seeing any AU DMPLs. That isn't to say they do not exist though.

  • The only one of the "big three" that ive ever seen do it has been ANACS. I dont pay any attention to the other grading services.
