Pulling of an auction E-bay

I was bidding on an auction #3003714286 1986-S proof set
starting price at $2.99 when I found it it was up to $4.25 so I entered my max bid and recevied confirmation that I was high bidder
@13.05 my max was $15.53 with 20 sec. to go in the auction the seller pulls the auction
I have tried to contact the seller he wont answer I,ve asked ebay and they wont respond
What recourse do I have or does anyone have a Phone # I can get to talk to EBAY
Does the seller have the right to pull the auction because the money wasen't high enought
I thought that was what a reserve price was for????????

That's what's known as a seller to avoid. I'll stop an auction for someone, but only if it hasn't received any bids. I would NEVER shut anybody out.

That is what a reserve is for but the seller owns the item and has the right to do with it what they want to in the end. If the seller has a history of this eBay might give them a warning email.

sorry, thats the way e-bay works nothing you can do except wait for another to come up and bid on that one.
  • It totally sux but the seller can pull the auction any time before the auction closes. I have had them pull auctions within seconds of the time that the auction would close. I also do not do business with any seller who has done this sh*t to me in the past!

  • It is within a seller's right to cancel an auction up to the last minute, although I think it isn't entirely ethical. I'd put them on your 'avoid' list.
