again, guys, a selling technique. seller not saying THIS is an ms65, just that an MS65 trade of this date is worth 13K
might as well say, oh by the way, a Rolex president goes for 13K., so bid on THIS coin!
but his example is a bit more relevant
at a local jeweler, the price marked on every item is double it's "actual" price, and they have a perpetual %50% OFF SALE!!!! going on.
similar strategy, again, works for a subset of bidders, and probably increases final price these auctions go for, unfortunately we all have to go throught that learning curve. not saying it's right, just that the market is so big and verigriated and dynamic that this will go on..

kind of like the people who list an ACG MS65 and say "the PCGS price guide lists this coin in MS67 at $850,000 - my reserve is well below that"

without saying it, you've suggested that it's worth $250, making $50 seem like a steal. again - this would only work on that certain subset.
