It's always fun to track the history of certain coins.

Sometimes if I find a semi-key date on eBay, I like to see if I can find it in previous auction archives.
For example, this Buffalo nickel on eBay appeared in a Heritage auction a year ago.
And from that I learn that the mildly unattractive toning pictured in the eBay auction is accurately depicted, as shown in the Heritage picture.
Although I do like the reddish toning on the reverse that you can see in the Heritage picture.
I wonder if it's real or not.
I think I'll pass for now.
