Alright Salt Lake City peeps, Wasatch Coin Show this weekend.

Friday and Saturday at that little convention center on about 9750 South and 300 West. Who's going? Anybody interested in meeting up before the show for lunch or something?

  • About how many tables/dealers?

  • I think it's around 30-40 tables. They had a lot of fresh material at the last one I went to which was great, because the previous two times sucked hardcore haha

That's going to be an awfully early lunch if you meet before the show which opens to the public at 10:00 a.m.
The hall has about 40 tables. (The d_mn things are only 6' image )

Expect at most 30 dealers. Wyoming, Colorado, California and New Mexico are usually represented.

It is a commercial show not sponsored by any of the State clubs.

Should be an interesting show and hopefully mirror the pace of activity evident locally.
The most money I made are on coins I haven't sold.

Oh I was going to mention that I found this Barber half there last time, it has been the best find since I have been going.

Shows you how much advertising the show chairman has done. image

Next local Utah show is at Ogden over the Easter weekend.
It's at the hotel on 24th street where it always has been held.

After that it is the NUTS show in June in Salt Lake.

Course there is always the Idaho Falls show in March.

Seriously, none of the shows here get any advertising. If you've signed up on the mailing list, they'll send you a flyer a week before. And they'll put a sign out in front of the building like two days before the show. It's ridiculous. I don't even think the newspapers have anything on it.

    That's Point-of-The-Mountain isn't it?

Sure sounds like Draper to me...
(It's been awhile since I've been there - but isn't that kinda far south?)

Just curious. Does much or any Mormon gold show up at your local coin shows in Utah? If you see any would be curious to know what it is being offered for?

Was there any Mormon gold at the show? What was it going for? Did Rust have a table and if so any unique Mormon coins being offered?
  • Not sure if there was any Mormon gold, because the show doesn't start for another five hours. image I'll keep my eye open and let you know. Rust usually doesn't have a table at this show.

Oh, if any of you SLC people want to harass me, I'll probably be there between 4:00 and 6:00 tonight, and 2:00-4:00 tomorrow. Look for a 24-year oldish guy with lots of gray hair walking around with a Palm Pilot. I might be accompanied by a few younger kids.
