Not sure. Reverse looks great from the scan but what is the semicircle on the obverse? Also I see one large spot that could hold it back.

GREAT color, and the strike looks even, though a bit weak on the obv. And I agree: that semicircle distracts.

It looks great to me.If the luster looks as good in person,it may have a shot.IMHO

I can se and count enough imperfections on the obverse that I wouldn't grade it 66 by itself, but the sheer perfection I see on that reverse might pull it over. With a single blatantly noticeable incursion on the reverse I wouldn't be able to grade the overall coin above 65...but it would receive PQ out of me at 65.

A way outside chance exists that NCS might be able to help with that circular pattern on the obverse, depending on what it is. If that were removed or lessened in intensity, I could easily grade the coin 66, possibly 67.

I agree, the luster is what got me, if, only if, the semicircle was gone!!!. Its a POP 0 in 67 and a pop 55 in 66rd. It was so far nicer than my 31-D in 65RD, and makes my 64rd 31-S look like junk, I thought this has a shot. Its a 31-S so there is a huge price gap between 65 and 66, ~$1500. I paid $300 raw for it so even if it goes 65 I am happy, it will make such a nice addition that I will have to upgrade my 31-D from 65 LOL.

    I will try NCS.

When you send it to them make sure that you specify exactly what you do and don't want done to the coin. Explain what you want it to look like. If they don't think ahead of time that they can give you the service you're asking for, they won't try it. You knowas well as I do that copper is very easy to ruin - they know this too, and take great care when restoring copper. I have put my trust in them a couple of times and it has come through for me.
