Did you buy the PCGS AU58 one in Kingswood auction last week?
Breen said about the coin: "This one ought to be in much greater demand from date collectors than it actually is; only 1000 business strikes were minted and I have seen exactly two of them in the past 25 years, one in the Ruby collection, but the proofs turn up with reasonable frequency--sometimes impaired." and Bowers has commented: "Business strikes were not saved at the time of issue, and if one were to be auctioned today it would be recognized as an extreme rarity. Probably no more than a handful of Uncirculated (business strike) examples exist!"
Sorry, mine isn't for sale.

I just read the same dies were used for both proof and BS. How does one tell if coin is mottled?
Isn't odd such a scarce coin is so "cheap"? An MS60 sold in 2001 for $690, pop 3/44 incl. NGC !!
Alot of them went into the melting pot too I believe.
Keep em coming...

terrific question, yet 1 you rarely see an answer to. OK, yet, my answer will include another slam on slabs, sorry, but i'll try to make it a light slam.
if die-pairings are the same, & the die-state cannot be confirmed, a 3d check is that you can sometimes tell is by the edge of the coin. the edges of proof planchets were polished, unlike the b.s. planchets.
obviously, the edge of a slabed coin cannot be examined, so you are forced to assume that pcgs/ngc/anacs/whomever has made the appropriate inspection.
regrettably, there IS NO 100% way to be sure on some coins. on the subject of pr. vs b.s., i will say right now that i have seen what i do believe to be PROOFS, and NOT b.s.'s of some of the very rare b.s. 3-cent dates, both nickel & silver, in plastic. the frustration is that, being slabed, i cannot examine the edge.

i suspect the coin is signficantly scarcer in CIRC'D grades. in fact, i told scarsdale that my xf is not available even at triple retail!
