My 62 irridescent Jeffs came back today. Both are PCGS PR65. I'm glad they're home.image

  • image I like them. Im wondering why PCGS grades these so low. Mine only made pr66. Looks like they would give something for eye appeal. I bet the graders never look at these under regular lighting. With a pinpoint light these toned proofs look ugly. They need someone to preview these things. They should be graded higher I think.

  • They look great!

I have one coming back as a 67, it is blue if I remember correctly. I'll post a pic when it arrives.
  • Very nice. I am starting a collection of toned Jeffs also. I have a pr69 gold and lavender 64 with a roated reverse.. I just won a 59 Pand D that I am waiting on (one gold and one blue). Also a bid in on several other raw proofs. Unfortuneately I have not been able to find any multi-colored examples. But I have a 61 and 62 proof set arriving at the end of the week. Fingers crossed. These are very addicting. What I like is that you can find them raw that are at low prices.

I like 'em both, nice colors, why graded so low, they look better than the grades assigned?

Thanks all. I think the grade is based on the impact the toning has on the surface. If you look at these guys under 5x, the toning tends to look more like pinpoint sized spotting. I didn't really care about the grade as much as I did getting them holdered because they are for my color set, but it is hard to find any area of collecting that is more fun or less money. IMO image
