Suggestion to improve registry

I think there needs to be an easier way to enter/delete cards from the registry. I was thinking of the following: Have a page where you can just enter the SN's

12345678
23456789
34567890
etc.

Then, the system could look up those cards and add them to the appropriate set. If a card was an upgrade, it could delete the previous card automatically. It would work similarly for deleting. It is currently time-consuming/tedious to delete a given number of cards because you have to do it one card at a time, then wait for it to reload before proceeding to the next.

Also, as others have suggested, I would like to see the card number when you use the cert verficiation tool.

    Robert:

I agree that the system can be very cumbersome for deleting cards one at a time and then adding in the upgrades. Even if you could just delete multiple cards at once, that would help. I have an opportunity to upgrade a large number of cards from one of the sets I collect -- and I know that it would ultimately take hours to administratively handle everything on the PSA Set Registry.

Also -- this process does not simply apply to upgrades. The same cumbersome process must be undertaken each time that you want to add a Scan of a card to some card you already have listed in the Registry. I am sure that the additional ease-of-use in adding these functionalities would provide incentive for myself and others to perhaps add scans, add more sets, etc.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • I too have become a firm believer that something should be done to enable a collector to delete multiple cards from the registry at one time (at least if they are all from the same set). I love the registry, and have been upgrading my sets pretty aggresively. But deleting more than a few cards from a single set is enough to make you pull your hair out.

Maybe that is why mine has been fallng out on it's own?image

That would be nice like in your email or Ebay watch list.Select all and BOOM! cards are deleted.

As for te picture issue,I've managed to get pictures up pretty quick by comparison to inserting pictures into the image hosting service or ebay pictures.

The registry takes awhile for car deletion but I like it asking me if I'm sure I want to delete because I've made mistakes before.
  • Another suggestion for the registry: maybe add a place to enter serial numbers of cards that aren't necessarily for a set. Maybe if you collected cards of all Yankees from all different years and different sets, you could just enter the serial number into a "Miscellaneous Cards" set registry (like you would for a 1970 Topps set or whatever). It wouldn't be weighted or anything. It could be for showing off some of your cards that don't really fit anywhere else and wouldn't necessitate an entire set.

It would be great if CU can force all registry participants to post a few pictures of their cards. I would love to see scans of some of the awesome cards out there. While it is impressive to see a list of cards, photos would add a lot.

Robert, I like the idea of punching in the cert # and it populating into all of the sets it's available for. I also like Justin's idea for a "free-form" registry. There are many theme and oddball sets that very few people collect, but would still be nice to show off. Koby, you want CU to force all registry participants to upload pictures?

A couple of registry wishes I have are:
    1. Being able to send a set to a fellow collector with ease
    2. Being able to view my own set if it is "dark"
    3. Somehow, have an overlayed pop report for those under 10 that automatically updates with the pop report
    4. Somehow, have an overlayed SMR for each card (over $20 maybe) that automatically updates with SMR, and a set SMR total too

As a way of adding value (and incentive), the final 2 benefits could be for set over 50% only (or whatever %). I don't know the logistics behind these wishes, so these wishes may not even be possible--but it would make it NICE!!!!!!!!
