I seek absolution and forgiveness ...

Forgive me, fellow Forum members, for I have sinned: LINK

I assure you, my bottom fishing will not result in my migration to the darkside (and I am not talking about foreigns). I have never done this before. I feel dirty. But, the coin looked halfway decent. Perhaps it is the gambler in me ... but, at $7, I am not betting the farm if it turns out to be a piece of you know what. I only hope you will forgive my weakness and not think of me as a bad numismatist or person.

Thank you for hearing me out ... confession is good for the soul. image

    I suppose I should confess to my own sin . . .

wow, so far every one has been kind...........wait till you get the "HOW COULD YOU SUPPORT AH-COL. AND ACCUPIG" posts.

I once admitted to buying a single accupig and got personal email saying that if it continues I would be ostricized from the community. Tough bunch here at times.

Personally to tell you the truth, I think you could have done just as well being selective and gotten the whole proof set for a few dollars more...considering postage...darn near the same.

    Pat,

I love your optimism. With a pic as good as the one for the 69 and ACG to back it up, you still put your wallet on the chopping block. That's a classic Heath move. Good luck.image

  • RGL,

Please tell me you're going to crack it out and submit it to another service? AND that you're going to post the results here?!?

Not that it makes a big difference, but it's PCI, not ACG. PCI MintState is a tad unusual in MS69. The coin has arrived and it is a solid MS67.

Very nice. The last one I watched in PCGS plastic did $130 give or take. Highly underrated coin. IMO

I agree. High grade 1965; 1966; 1967 (the NON-SMS's) and 1968, 1969 mints are tougher Washingtons in upper GEM grades. I look for them- usually without success.

I'm not a big Clad Collector, but enjoy the hunt for sleeper coins. The mid to late sixty Clad Washingtons are sleepers in MS67+, in my opinion.

Yes, this coin shall be liberated from its plastic prison and set free to potentially be sent to Newport Beach, where it will become an ever-older rarity during its grading wait ... image

say three hail marrys [and send me a mint state 1901 S barber quarter] and all will be forgiven my son.
The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.
