I eMailed this guy once and asked him what method he uses to tone these. He replied that he didn't know what I was talking about, that he knows nothing about toning, just finds them this way. Should I believe him?

Benloe you have a good eye, that is doubling on the reverse, On Franklins the doubling is usually found on the E Plubris Unum, just as is seen on this half. What a shame...

Okay, I placed a bid. Only because of the doubling. Can toning like this be removed by dipping?

Actually, I believe, zapping it with radiation would add a pinkish tint. image

I emailed him and asked if it was heat or chemicals that he used... said he thought chemicals.

I think you are being somewhat harsh, reminds me of the MS 70 coin in the Accugrade grading set.

  • The only way I've been able to get off heat-induced AT is by rubbing the coin. The color wipes right off.

WOWW!! A lovely coin. Really beautiful. Full rich vibrant colors, worthy of the most descerning collector's cabinet & @ a value packed bargain price. These previously shunned black sheep of the numismatic community are poised to go nowhere except UP.

    Hi stman!
Kinda dry. Just a practice bid to keep my bidding skills honed. This Morgan had a small fingerprint on both sides that the seller probably didn't see because it wasn't mentioned: Text

LOL, yeah that's a beauty. Well, he said look at the scans you can see everything. And you sure can. I see you came in with a 2 second snipe and were too cheap to win.

Naw, I think maybe thrifty? You know a good value when you see it, and it's obvious you won't go one penny over your perceived value.

Good aggressive bidding there big Dog.
