On the road the next 3 days...who has a shop?!?

I'm on the road from Bama to North Carolina today. Will leave North Carolina (Lumberton) Monday around 2pm and I'm free for a couple of days. Was contemplating wandering up towards Front Royal, VA, then taking the Blue Ridge Parkway home (as much as might be open, and yes, I have 4 wheel drive image

However, if any of our member-dealers have shops along the way, I could EASILY be detoured image

OK, I have checked listings for:

    North Carolina (Lumberton)
    Front Royal, VA
    Blue Ridge Parkway, VA

And came up with ....zero. Now this does not mean they are not out there. My book is from 2001, called Numismatic Dealer Directory.

I need the State followed by the city and I'll do a little search for you if you would like.

    Ray

PS. I won this book for a forum member with the promise I would help others find coin shops, I've been doing this for 2 years now.
  • Wow Ray! I really didn't know this forum had a "locator service!"

I really don't have an itenerary. I'm going to my Great-Aunt's funeral (she was 97! would have been 98 in 2 weeks), and thought that after that, I'd just "wander around" the Blue Ridge Parkway until I foiund my way back home Teisday night or Wednesday.

Thanks for the offer, and the info, and if I think of a city I know I'm going to hit (Chattanooga maybe?) I'll be sure to post it!

No problem, let me know if your going on any more trips.

  • I know of a few if you were coming a little closer to Richmond. Blue Ridge Parkway is a good hour and half to 2 hours from Richmond, not sure of any shops out that way. Let me know if you will be coming near Richmond and I will be able to help you out. I have lived in this area for 25 years and know of a few downtown.

    DWood,

You'll more than likely take 211 from Lumberton to 220 North to Greensboro (my hometown) to pick-up 40 West through Winston-salem, Hickory and Asheville to pick-up the parkway. Maybe that'll help the search. Good luck on the quest.

If you're going to be in Knoxville next weekend, the big coin show will be in town at Budget Inn on Cedar Bluff. If I remember right, that is. I'm going to try to be there.
