ANACONDA. Still waiting for the "Three Degrees" of toning theory!

braddickbraddick Posts: 24,197 ✭✭✭✭✭
ANACONDA wrote an interesting thread and hinted there was much more when it came to defining his "three degrees" to toning theory. He stated he would write more regarding it and unless I missed the Thread (doubt it)- we're still waiting for this enjoyable read!

ANACONDA?

  • he is here in houston at the show. he has his laptop with him but I am pretty sure he won't get onto the board until after the show, he has to count up all those big sales.

I have my own three degrees for toned coins but it is probably nothing like Adrian's. Mine are-

1)The coin is genuinely scarce or rare
2)The coin has technically superb surfaces
    3)The coin has tremendous toning

  • Hey Braddick and the rest of you Guys and Gals!

As i essentially said in this thread

"A three degree coin - a term i coined to describe coins that look good three out of the one hundred eighty degress you can hold them. Early toned proof coins often have this characteristic."

It's not really a theory, but a tongue in cheek way of describing a coin that looks good but only when you look at it at the right angles, which isn't most of the angles.

Man, did i get some killer fricken coins (pinkie to corner of mouth).

My back is grieving me, so i'm hitting the hay. See you tomorrow.

    Dog,

He had two windows up, one with the other thread, and one the reply box. He copied the wrong Url into the link box.image

  • Hey Dog!

    Two questions:

What would you have written if you could have posted under my name and....

What is Ms. Liberty smokin'? Can a Bliss? (There's a double for you.)

Snake, Liberty is smoking the good stuff....a big fat handrolled pile of silver oxide cut with sulphur dioxide. Very smooth & pleasing.
If I could have poster under your nick it would have went something like this:

"DOG IS THE GREATEST!! He's the greatest Morgan collector in the whole wide world! Have you seen his NGC Morgan Registry Set? SIMPLY AMAZING He has a partial set of the most weird & unusual toned Morgans ever seen by man. As I surf through his set I see interesting coins as the bag toned Binion with a VAM designation with a shady background involving sex, drugs, & murder to coins named Smokin Head, Burning Head, Mardi Gras, Zorro, Combo and a 78-S that is so amazing he simply doesn't have words for it! He even has a rainbow Sample Slab registered! He built the set without regard to price, grade, holder or what mainstream collectors perceive as "monster." He strives only for unusualness! As I scroll through his coins even tho they aren't listed as such I can easily see provances from World Class Toned Dealers such as Anaconda Rare Coins, Pinnacle Rarities, MBCoins, drewu1021, Rainbow Morgans, and others. Don't let the Dog name fool you, his knowledge of & eye for Morgans is untouchable! A class act this Dog97."

Congrats on the future rugrat! image I had a kid in 1997 and named her Amber Morgan. Surprised? image
