An end of midterms treat, a question, and a big praise to my mommy!

Howdy all,

With only two more midterms remaining on Monday- history and study hall, I decided that study hall should be- MUST BE- skipped. Afterall, who wants to sit in a crowded, hot room, with nothing to do, for two hours, in silence? So my mom, agreeing with me, wrote me a note to get out of study hall- no doctors appointment, no excuse, says the principal... now here is the praise- my mom got fed up enough, she made me an orthodontist appointment, just so I could miss study hall! image What a great mom!

Now for the coin part- the coin store is about 100-300 feet from the orthodontist- probably closer to 100, so before everyone else is even dismissed from their final two hours of torture, I will be looking for coins... so, what should I look for? He has more high-end rather than low end stuff, and sometimes the low end stuff is dismal, to say the least (image) Should I try for some seated stuff? Maybe a morgan? Maybe another monster-toned ASE that he thinks is just another stupid modern, so I can get it super cheap?

Ideas, people, Ideas!

Jeremy

PS- what is the proper thank you to my mom?

You can probably think of the proper thank you for your mother without my help so I will stick to the coins. Sometimes, the best days looking at coins are days where you look at coins and don't buy anything. I know that that hurts, it hurts me, too. However, it's true. You can learn so much, and find an appreciation for things you might otherwise skip, if you go into something like this store with no expectations of what you will leave with. Good luck.

You're a schemer. Sounds like something I would have done! How much do you want to spend?

But I always like to get something from him image Even if it's just a franklin or two for my album that I am slowly putting together- I don't feel complete if I don't spend at least a few dollars- it's a small shop and I really like the dealer image (then again he does do lots of business that requires having no space- just getting expensive stuff and moving it right along image)

Not a lot- $20-$30, maybe... possibly a little more for something really nice and historic.

How does a person have mid-terms in January? Our mid-terms aren't until March.

Sound like you have a really cool mom.

Maybe a type coin of something you normally wouldn't get?

Midterms... they're for high school and at the end of a semester- college equivalent to finals, but we have, for the mostpart, year-long classes, thus finals are in June.

Ahh...I didn't know you were in high school. I'm too old to remember that sort of thing from my days, but now that you mention it, it makes sense.
