My Pink 62PF Jeff...finally

I promised pics o my pink Jeff from the discussion the other day. Just snapped these, so the quality isn't the greatest, and I left the other coins in to give you a feel for the deepness of the tome. It is pink to the eye, not golden or brown. Really neat!

Very nice Jeff. I always describe those as rose. I think if they tone a little longer, they turn lavendar, and then purple. They are always fun to find.

  • Lucy,
    I think you do image

I've been afraid to mention this, but in searching for the Jeff proofs, I've been running across the Frankies more and more...

And they're starting to look REALLY good......darn it!!!!!

  • Stop now, don't buy a '42 proof set! You will fall in love with the Walkers and Mercurys image Then you will have to have a '37 with the Buffalo!

I have a couple of blue ones too. they are really awesome!
  • Well,
In all honesty, it was the original "Stupid Color" thread that made me pull out that proof set and take a look. Then 2-3 other people replied that they also had 1962 Jeff proofs that were toning similarly. So off to eBay I go to do a little "research" image

I've got several 61-64 proof sets coming (61-63 seems to be the years most frequently showing these tones, but hey...the '64 was part of a lot I won). I'll post the results when they arrive. And did we ever get an answer on the washing process during those years? Is this the reason we're seeing so many of these toning now?
