wow, you hunted that one down. That's way more than I've ever paid for a Franklin. I bought a white 1950 MS 65 FBL for $154. I didn't know a ms66 was that much more.

Nice job!

I did notice that although the holder says full bell lines that the coin in the photo is tilted and, by my untrained eye, I couldn't see any bell lines. Is this exceptable practice or am I too picky?

I had the seller send me a pic of the Bell Lines prior to bidding, this picture is terrible as well, the Bell Lines do look like they are there..

That picture is allot better than the one on ebay. Kudos to you for contacting them for a better pic before purchase. You are beginning to make me feel slightly inadequate with my meesly franky series in an album. Oh well, I'll just have to get over it.

Strike and lusterwise it should all be there as 50P is well known for these two attributes and therefore is a favorite with type collectors. I wonder what the toning will be like in real person though - send us some pics as soon as you get it!

No problem. I'm just a modest collector on a modest income just trying to put away a few coins for my (hopefully) grand-kids like my dear ole grand-dad should have done.

As a new member, I think it's groovy/coolio that folks, collectors and dealers, novice and professional, can get together and talk about coins.
