Help grade this '82 indian

Shot in the dark indian for $23. Claimed to be ms63, but I have very little experience with indians. To me it looks ms, but would appreciate any experienced opinions. There is a little more detail in the hair under liberty then the picture shows.

Also, for all your picture takers, any tips for imaging brown coins? I have a hell of a time with them.

Thanks!

It looks MS-63BN to me. The strike is not full, and it has streaking. I can't see any cleaning. Those dates often came fully struck.

I'm going to have to go AU58 on this one without being able to see whether there is a surface break on the ribbon or hair curl. Those diamonds just don't come out and grab me as MS. If it is MS, I would have to say 64BN or 65BN....unless that dark spot on the indian's head is carbon...then it's an NCS candidate. That stuff is like cancer - you can't leave it on the coin, it will eat the coin alive.

That's a nice image of that coin, it looks like you know very well how to take pictures of brown copper. In my experience, if you put copper on a black background you get a better and truer image of it and I would think that that is because the light meter takes an overall reading of the entire field of view and that a black background gives a more accurate reading for a dark coin.

I could believe MS and I would not say cleaned based on those images but it really depends how well they reflect what the surfaces truly look like.

Thanks for the opinions guys! When you mention streaking, is that the same streaking you see more often on the earlier dates in the series that looks really cool? (at least to me, anyway..)

I with coppercoins on this one a little week to the right of the ear with a rim ding at 12 o'clock
AU58 but for 23.00 a very nice score.

I hate it when you see my post before I can edit the spelling.

I would say AU-58 and agree that it may have been cleaned. Is the reverse of center a little or is it me? The denticals along the bottom seem to be doubled.
