More info when verifying cert #'s.

In relation to another thread currently running regarding older slabs vs newer slabs.
Could PSA not list more info when checking a cert #?

Personally I would like to see the date the card was graded. It has been discussed here that PSA grading standards for cards graded within the last 2 years are stricter than those previous to that. Whether or not that is fact or fiction is anyone's guess, however from what I have read here the former seems to apply. I'm sure many sellers have re-slabbed cards to newer holders to increase prices realized. Many collector's also re-slab cards to keep their collections uniform.
It seems rare these days to see any of the original holders on Ebay. Where have they all gone?

It would also be great to know who the original submitter was, for various reasons, some of which are discussed here regularly. However, given that personal privacy would be at stake, this would be virtually impossible.

I WOULD LIKE THEM TO AT LEAST ADD THE CARD #

Sometimes there are two cards of the same player in a set and this would help clarify which card it really is.

    Just my $0.02

  • When a card was graded really doesn't matter. Some people with great cards got involved early, some people held off for a few years. Just because a guy waited a few years to submit the same basic quality cards, doesn't mean his cards are assumed to be better than earlier submissions. In all submissions regardless of when they were sent in, you will have high and low end cards coming back in all grade levels. I guess we have a new expression - "Buy the card, not the date it was graded."
