1969 Mint set error?

I have a nickel in a an original mint set that has a partialy filled die error on the reverse. The letters CE of five cents are missing with the N about 5% visible. Some of the letters of MONTICELLO are very weak. I know that these are quite common but it being in a mint set I was wondering if this is common? Does it increase its value? Thanks.

It's not unusual for it to be in a Mint Set because Mint Sets are made from coins intended for circulation. It might add just a small prem to those interested in errors.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • I would disagree with the comment that Mint Sets are made from coins intended for circulation. In years gone by it may be true that Mint sets were made that way - but this is not the case - at least not in todays world. Mint sets today are made on different presses than the coins issued for circulation. They are struck with higher pressure and they do receive special handling & treatment during the minting process.
