Question about 1960-d small date lincolns?????

jdimmickjdimmick Posts: 9,675 ✭✭✭✭✭
I just picked up 75 rolls of BU 1960-d lincolns that have been sitting on a shelf for over 20 years. These coins have not been looked at for at least that long.

What I was wondering, with the modern slabbing craze, would it be worth to search through these to try and locate some potential Ms-68, 69 canidates and submit them for grading. Or is the price of slabbing a 1960-d not worth the effort??? and risk of no go!

Or should I just blow out the rolls?

I would have listed in an auction like e-bay but shipping would eat me alive in cost , and the time more so?

Opinions please anyone????????

My personal take - 1960D small date Lincolns are extremely common and extremely available. Even with that being the case, very high grade specimens would probably be worth slabbing because they typically simply don't exist. There were MANY problems with quality in that era, especially with the small date dies for 1960.

As for getting rid of them, I would purchase them from you and pay for the shipping, no problem.
