Guess the Grade - 1922 Peace Dollar ( grade revealed in my second post )

Here`s a 1922 Peace Dollar graded by PCGS. I`ll reveal The grade later this evening. PS on the reverse, the orange isn`t that intense in person as the picture suggests. Even though there is some orange, I tried to tweak it a little to try to get the detail to show.

Oddly the picture stopped showing. Hopfully it won`t be a continuing problem.

There is a big jump between 65 and 66, so I'm going with MS65

Peace dollars seem to be very difficult to grade, especially from scans, but I'll say MS65.

    Is that the moustache variety?

looks a little nicer than my ms-63 so i'll say with the hits it's a 64 but the luster bumps it to 65 so my guess is MS-65

Since I have a 1925 one that looks so much like this that just got graded 64 (which I thought was 63 or 64) I'll go with 64.

Looks like a bad dip rinse. I will guess 64.

Assuming that the scratches below the "U" on the reverse are on the slab and not the coin, I'd say 66 (65 otherwise).

with the facial blemishes and the week strick on the rev makes me think it will not be over MS63. I have noticed a lot of the peace dollars have what looks like a week strike on the rev. I don't own a higher grade mint state peace dollar but low end mint state PD I do own all have a week rev.

appears to have rev. roll friction, but a nice strike. luster looks average. i guess ms-64. higher wouldn't surprise me if the luster is better in-hand.

  • I'm going with 64 for now...
  • I`m revealing the grade sooner then I like. I`m using a free site for the first time and I guess it`s going to take awhile longer to get the hang of it. Everybody that had a chance hammered it right on the button. It`s a MS65. Thanks for your replies and sorry for not being able to keep the picture up.
