1815 - cool never knew there was only one year out of a little over 200 years where there were no cents struck.

Trick question. According to records, some 1816 cents were actually struck in December 1815. There were no cents dated 1815 however.

I'll guess there were no cents dated 1815
that is an interesting trivia question though...
When did they stop dating coins that were not minted in the respective year??

I know that many 1964 dated coins were minted in 1965.

& I just rememebred the 1776-1976 bicentennials were minted in 75 & 76!

Trick question.
If I remember correctly there was no cent coinage in 1823 although cents dated 1823 exist. No cents exist dated 1815 but 1816 dated cents were struck in 1815.

If I remember correctly there was no cent coinage in 1823 although cents dated 1823 exist. No cents exist dated 1815 but 1816 dated cents were struck in 1815.
