My new ACG Morgan

I can't say I "bought the coin not the holder." The eBay seller didn't even have a pict. I wasn't hoping for a pq coin unjustly entombed in wrongly graded slab. I didn't even check the grading or to see if the toning was real or if the coin was even a genuine Morgan. I bought it purely for the holder. I bought it solely for the plastic. Strictly for the ACG name. I was more interested if the Cs on the rev insert lined up with the ACC or was off centered.
The rev looks like a 3rd gen slab but the obv doesn't match. Not a 2. Maybe a transactional type slab or a #4? This coin was probably slabbed before PCGS & NGC was even in business but if I'm incorrect I'm sure Conder101 will be glad to set me straight.
Pretty cool, huh?

Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

I don't know why it matters a coin is a coin but thought I'd ask.
The coin is AU if you're lucky, but I know it's not about the coin it's the holder, yeah right.
Say it's not so.......
BTW, like I said, last time I was drinking something like that, Chino Ca. is not a great place to visit. It will make a tame Dog go mad, that mad dog 20/20 will.

It's so. Go to my ACG website linked below and read the link "Alan Hager is a proven fraud"

Yes Accugrade started out in Greenwich CT. They have also had branch offices in De Moines Iowa, Long Beach CA, and San Francisco CA. Now of course they are in FL.
Dog,
That is a new one on me. It is VERY similar to another variety but the placement of the state name is definitely different. The varieties have been renumbered so the numbers you have are no longer accurate. (Shortly before I clased out the book to new information I renumbered the entire series to remove all of the "in between" numbers that I had had to use for new discoveries while compiling the book.) Your new variety would fit in in between varieties ACG 13 and ACG 14 in the current book. Soo though, it will have to wait for the second edition before it gets listed. If you are curious this makes the 27th ACG production variety seen. And it was produced some time in 1989 - 90.
How did you buy it purely for the holder if it wasn't pictured? How did you know what the holder looked like?
The court opinion linked by kgazK6AZ is very interesting and worth a look.
The jury was asked if Hager knowingly falsely acted to con the plaintiff, the jury said yes, on and appeal the court said the jury's verdict was overwhelmingly supported by the evidence. Good stuff:
Interrogatory No. 7. Do you find that the defendant Alan Hager knowingly falsely represented the grading and wholesale value of coins he transferred to David Naughton as higher than 19 percent of retail value, when that was untrue, and that he did so to induce Naughton to act on it and that he did so to his financial loss?
Answer: Yes.
I don't like to buy any coins from anyone dealing in ACG stuff. That to me sends up red flags to stay away.
Thanks for the info!

Even though I bought it "sight unseen" the seller's descrip said it was a CT slab so I knew it was a "good find."
When I got it I knew it was no older than a 3rd gen due to the C in CT being left of the CC in Accrugrade but my reference material is sorely lacking.
