Proof Jeff Collectors: A couple of interesting ticks upward on two moderns

In the last two and one-half weeks, note the population additions on these two Jeffs:
1972-S PR-69 DCAM: An increase of two to 20.
1974-S PR-69 DCAM: An increase of eight to 62.
Other modern 69 pops stable during this period, with one more 1975 PR-69 DCAM to bring pop to 53.
More nice raws flowing in or PR-68 regrades submitted in light of PCGS' loosening on moderns and homerunhall's stated "goal"?

As one of the proud owners of one of these 20, I'm watching this pop closely.
i think it's a bit ironic that there should be an influx of collectors/submitters in any series as a result of prices realized. the twist being that collector/submitter MR. X sees such-and-such a date selling strong and submits hoping to find the pot of gold while increasing the grade pop to a stagnant amount of collectors which should result in a lowering or constant price. such is the state of the hobby with high grades and higher dollars at stake.
it seems a much better formula for a collector to be drawn to a series for reasons other than money. maybe that's what's going on with all the Jefferson series interest as of late but i think not. it'll all work out well in the wash. my prediction is that when our little price run-up cools, many dates will become available when uninterested parties sell. not just this series but all series. how long of a wait is the only unanswered question.
