***** CONTEST *******

I did it!!!!! With the posting of my last submission, I have finally finished my first completely graded set. I registered it last night, so I figure it will take a few days to be listed. However, in the meantime, here's a little contest if you're interested:

Question: What set did I just complete (GPA 9.0) and list?

Hint: Some of the cards are of people named Henry, James, John, Barry, Peter, David and Jimmy.
Hint: The set IS listed on the Registry, just not mine yet.
Hint: There are less than 792 cards in the set.

That is all the hints for now. I'll add more until we have TWO winners. The first TWO people to PM me the correct answer, will win a prize. I will even cover shipping. Give it a shotimage

Good Luck

I will start a list of the incorrect guesses here:

1970 Kellogg's Football
1976 Topps Baseball
1981 Donruss Golf
1982 Topps Baseball

PM means "personal message" Click on the little lock icon at the top of each message to send one to that person. When you receive one, the little lock icon at the top of the page (left side) will indicate you have XX messages.

If you don't have a lock icon, go to your profile and turn them on. TTT means "to the top". It is used to send a post to the top of the first page.

For those of you trying the contest, please do not reply here, use the PM feature so as not to reuin it for everyone else. Also, I started a list of the INCORRECT guesses at the top. Good luck again.

Hint #4 It is not a Hockey, Basketball, Football or Baseball Set.

Wow. That was fast. We either have two geniuses or two real lucky guessers out there. Congrats Spacetrack and Bleacherbum. You came in at 6:26 and 6:58 PM ET with the correct set. It still has not been listed and it would kinda suck to just tell everyone, so I'll wait until it's on-line to let everyone in.

Hey winners. PM me your addy's.

Some of the more notable, er-interesting guesses:

    Beatles Set - Rock On
    1969 Brady Bunch - Groovy
1956 Topps Presidents - Born after most of them died.
Garbage Pail Something or Others - Is that what you guys think of me?

Thanks for playing. Keep on Keepin’ on..............and collecting.

  • I'd really like to see that Olga Forbut PSA 10

Forbut - That is funny. I created the list for BJ and I spelled it wrong. Ooops.

I have to give a public thanks to BobS for delivering an awesome prize!! A full set of the 1979 Venorlandus Ltd, the set that he managed to build in awesome graded form. These are some cool cards. After seeing the graded set and reading MRichards post, I wanted to find a small set on eBay that I took a liking to. This may just be it. Don't worry about competition, Bob; I'm sure you took the best of the lot.

Glad you liked 'em Brian. You never know what set(s) will grab your attention, get you hooked, and fill your life with months/years of collecting fun. Those goofy little tobacco look-a-likes just did it for me.
