The color looks weird--- but then again, all of his scans do... that coin should be in a slab, so I would consider it counterfeit for the purpose of buying it online.
I had this on my watch list as our local club is going to have a meeting dedicated to counterfeits and our president asked anyone who could bring counterfeit coin(s) in to do so and they would be discussed. I thought if I could pick one or two up for $15.00-$20.00 it would be worth it for the education value. The last time I checked this auction it was at $75.00 (already very stupid money) so I deleted it at that point. Let's see, it looks funky, it's not slabbed, and the seller says it's probably counterfeit. I think I'll watch it close just so I can see how ridiculously high it will go. Joe
I think however buys it at that price knows what they are getting into. I think this person will try to resell it as genuine, to some other person, who doesn't know better.
He does offer a return privilege. The only problem with that is that i would have to remove the coin from it's package to do my testing for authenticity and to do so is instant void of return privilege.Looks like a cast counterfeit to me.

Why isn't it in a slab?
The seller is an ACG/NTC/PCI dealer so it should be easy to get it into a slab.
Mkaes you wonder, huh?

But he's not sure it's a counterfeit. If there was only some way he could find out?

I have one question (which, within, contains my comment!): Why isn't it slabbed?
