Some classic FE/IH variety images

The Fly-In Club's website recently added their census for the top 45 varieties. One of the perks of having this online is the ability to link examples, and forum member Lakesammman went beyond the call of duty on this. His collection/photography skills provided some close-ups I've never seen the likes of before. Especially the 1858/7 S1 & S7 -- his micro close-ups of the date numerals make these subtle varieties easy to identify. It's a page to bookmark for anyone with even a casual interest in cherrypicking these. Of course, a measly $20 yearly donation to the club (linked below) as an active member would help ensure future shared information like this!

So far 20 of the 45 have been imaged. Any high quality jpegs of the remaining 25 would be greatly appreciated. I've tried to reduce even the largest images to a managable size for dial-up visitors. If you have problems downloading any pleae let me know.

Great photos and really timely for me having had the good fortune to view all of these types and varieties a couple of weeks ago.

    Thanks Shylock,

    Yep, they're everywhere - I think I have three not listed - 2 MPDs and a RPD.

Damn that stuff is cool! I especially like the 1880 S1 Doubled Die Obverse/Clashed Reverse. Two in one, and the die clash ain't no hard to see wimpy little thing either!

The 1880 S1 is one of the coolest and most sought after IHC varieties - it is a fantastic variety! IMOimage

If you have a nice speciman of the varieties that we are missing, Shylock or I would be happy to photograph for you. Just PM one or the other and we can work out the arrangements.
