1932 D & S Quarters

Do you think there are any original BU rolls of these dates still around? I think I remember reading somewhere that they were known up until the 1970's.
Collecting since 1976.

    I seem to recall Mitch (wondercoin) saying that he had collected a complete set of Washington quarter rolls; although, I don't know if he still has them.

  • I'm thinking it's quite possible. People have a tendency to pick up and hold onto rolls of any coin from its first year of issuance. This was 1932 in the Washington's case. Also, The Washington quarter was issued in 1932 as a commenorative coin (George's 200th B-day?) and was only supposed to be around for one year, so many rolls may have been hoarded with this thought in mind.

    In the case of the 32 d, i doubt it because with the sale of the only p.c.g.s. 66 selling for 89,000 and even 64's with a pop. over 200 pieces selling for 4000 plus why would anyone sit on a roll of them without slowly selling them into the market to take advantage of the current hot washinton [hot better date washinton market}
    The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.
  • Seth, the last time i personally heard of any rolls being available was approximately two years ago and it was a roll of 32S. Although i'd love to come across a roll. image I'd have to second mortgage my house to afford it. image
