    One for the ages!

This is great. You think with his high skill level he would've at least changed the cert number and the NM to Mint. Cert number is for a PSA 7 which would be a nice card by itself. I might take him up on gettig me a PSA 10. image
  • I could not keep up with the number of things wrong with that listing.
  • Where do people like this come from?!

Let's start keeping track of the errors... I'll start...

    1. PSA label says NM, but he's "photoshopped" it to a "9"
    2. Misspelled Mantle's first name "Micky"
    3. First line says it's a PSA 8.9 Whatever that means...
    4. Says it's a 1951 Topps, when it's a Bowman
    5. $50k for a PSA 6-8... Whatever that means?!

Folks, that's after the first 2 lines...

I'll let some other people add to the fun. image

    6. He didn't bother to change the cert number which shows up as PSA 7
    7. He used the pic of an auction currently running on ebay
    8. Card is not #311

    9. Didn't change the NM to Mint
    10. Stresses that it is real despite being in a PSA 9 holder

    forgot those
  • As mentioned on the other board where this is also being discussed, my favorite is the ever popular:

He states " I'm 110% sure I know this is real...I received this card from my GRANDFATHER".

If there was ever a statement in a description that should give you peace of mind this is it.image

Truly a sad state of affairs.

  • This is the same PSA cert number as the 51 Bowman being auctioned by jeannie15a on ebay.
  • Did anyone notice that the seller just registered yesterday (1-19-03) on ebay?

Has anyone contacted ebay or the current bidders to let them know of this scam? It's a 10 day auction, so we have time. Let's see what happens.

We need to inform the bidders several days before the close of the auction though (it seems that both current bidders are legitimate with good feedback).

I contacted eBay immediately so it will be interesting to see what is done. From reading the SC&M thread, many did the same. I am surprised that bidders with so many transactions are bidding.
